Steve's New Home!

Everyone can stop feeling sorry for Steve now...Keith has helped me to make him a new bespoke home...lucky old bear.
Love you Steve.

Security Blanket

A lot of my work revolves around Nostalgia and Sentimentality.
This piece is a security blanket, reminiscent of the sort of blanket a child might have, only this one is made up of pieces of fabric given to me by friends and family, the root of security.

We had an Exhibition!

So my Foundation degree class mates and myself held an exhibition at Norden Farm in Maidenhead, all very exciting really...a proper exhibition...in a proper exhibition space!!!
Well people came along...you cant ask for more than that can you!

R.I.P STEVE
Steve was a vintage bear I bought from eBay. I wanted to give him a home and restore some of his sentimental value.
But Steve was falling apart at the seams as he was so old so I decided to do something special for him, to preserve his value. He became art, I dipped him in slip clay and fired him in a kiln, much to the horror of those who had become friendly with Steve, and now he is gone, all that remains is this fragile cast of an unwanted bear.
Someone got creative!!

You never even let me in,
You showed me your soul through the open door,
Then you closed it and asked me to wait outside.

So I waited,
Peering through the steamed windows to where you sat,
With your soul safely curled up on your lap purring loudly.

But it was winter,
And stood there with my heart bared I began to freeze,
Not even a security blanket did you pass my way.

Its Spring time now,
And as my heart begins to thaw I think of you,
Held prisoner by your soul, your jailer in the dark.

And when summer comes,
Its me who'll run free through the amber sun,
Sharing out my soul with the butterflies that land there.
